Integration

Notion is where the spec lives. Cognia makes it queryable.

We don't replace Notion. We index it alongside Slack, GitHub, Linear, and the rest of your stack so a single question gets a single answer.

What gets captured

Workspace pages (every page the OAuth grant covers)
Page content (rich text, headings, code blocks, tables)
Databases (rows are indexed as separate memories)
Page metadata (created/edited timestamps, authors, tags)

Setup

  1. 1

    Open Admin → Integrations

As an org admin, find Notion in the connector list.

  2. 2

    Click Connect

OAuth via Notion. You'll pick which pages and databases Cognia can read. We recommend granting workspace-level access; it's the simplest scope.

  3. 3

    Wait for the back-fill

Cognia indexes every page in scope. For workspaces under 5,000 pages this takes under 10 minutes; bigger workspaces run in the background.

  4. 4

    Ask a question

Open the agent in the Cognia app and ask 'where's the spec for X?'. Answers come back with the page link and the cited section.

Example questions

cogniahq.tech /agent · Notion

FAQ

What if a page is restricted?
Cognia can only see pages the OAuth grant covers. Restricted pages stay restricted; if your workspace uses page-level permissions, the indexer respects them.
How fresh is the index?
We poll the Notion API every 15 minutes for changes. Live updates via webhooks are on the roadmap.
Can I exclude specific pages?
Yes. The connector accepts a deny-list of page IDs in the org settings. Useful for HR and compensation pages.
